Discover the 7 main success elements of self employed careers

Follow the ultimate recipe to a successful self employed career

Follow the ultimate recipe to a successful self employed career

Successful self employed careers have some elements in common and in this blog post I’ll talk about what they are as I’ve studied a lot of them and do my very best to copy them.

1. A Clear Vision

How can you know you’re making the right decisions at every crossroad on your path through life, if you’re lacking a vision for what you’re doing? In order to know where to go you need a goal. This goal needs to be as crystal clear as you possibly can make it. Otherwise you risk making poor decisions taking you to a place where you don’t want to end up. Most successful self employed people have had a clear picture in their mind and a detailed map of what they wanted to accomplish.

2. A project based upon their strength

Successful self employed careers are building upon what they are really good at. This has given them the competitive advantage they needed to stand out from the crowd. If you neglect finding your own strength your chances of living with anxiety goes up dramatically. Deep down inside you’ll know your competitors are more skilled than you and probably will come up with something new or smart that you don’t.  In the back of your mind you’ll always have the fear of being conquered out of business any time.

3. Passionate about what they do

Being passionate about what you do is essential. If you have every other element listed here but passion, you’ll struggle with motivation. This will easily trigger you to give up long before any of the good results will show up. If you start what you do because of money or opportunity you’re more concerned about you and your own life than about those you pretend to serve. Your customers will notice that. With true and heartfelt passion you’ll work hard to always get better at what you do – which also will be recognized by your customers.
This is why I’ve stressed this in several posts here at Self Employed Income Blog. Many seem not to realize this as they hunt one “opportunity” after the other believing it will bring them to the heaven where money practically is pouring down over their head – only to experience failure and disappointment.

4. They’re resourceful

Nothing can be more frustrating than lacking the resources you need. It could be lack of money, time, competence, and tools, whatever… However; focusing upon what you lack tells another story about you: You’re not acting resourceful. That’s something much more serious. You don’t use your mind to figure out how to compensate for what you’re short of. This is what really separates the unsuccessful from the successful.

5. Alliance Partners

Successful people team up with strategic partners – JV partners and affiliate partners – helping them grow and reach their audience. Being self employed doesn’t mean you have to do everything in your business yourself. If that is how you’re planning to reach your goals, your success will be limited. That’s ok if that’s what you want. But if you dream big you need to involve other people.

6. Powerful Tactics

When experiencing sluggish results you need to power up your tactics – marketing tactics and otherwise. This kind of result is closely linked with lack of passion and alliance partners. Team up with someone you’re working well together with and brainstorm how to find the marketing tactics that will catapult your business.

7. Action Plan

If you have all the above in place and drop creating a well thought out action plan that will take you from where you are today to where you want to be, then your dream of success are nothing more than that; a dream. Nor will it ever be. Successful self employed careers are not something happening accidentally. They are the result of well prepared plans being implemented.

When looking thoroughly at how successful self employed careers came to be all these elements are found. They’ve been persistent and kept their dream warm in spite of setbacks. That’s what you need to do as well. Drill down the same hole until you find oil rather than drilling new holes again and again. Decide to trust this recipe and you’ll end up having created a successful self employed career before you know.
