You are self employed when you operate as an individual person either as a sole proprietor, freelancer, coach, consultant, partner in a partnership, independent contractor etc.

When you from this activity get income above a certain level, you are perceived to have self employed income by your tax authorities.

Self employment can be very rewarding. However if you just jump upon some idea someone has convinced you is an opportunity you’ll never get again, your chances to succeed are rather limited. Trying to cut the edges and take the short ways can be tempting, but not so smart in the end.

However, if you start the right way, plan well, do what’s needed to be done and have the persistency that’s required, your reward will be happiness and prosperity.

My name is Aase Koppergaard and I live in Norway just beneath the Arctic Circle.
